Our client is a niche branded manufacturer of consumer goods that has a rich heritage and serves large “blue – chip” customers across a number of markets in the UK, Europe, the sub-continent and the Far East. With a turnover in excess of £ 10 million it is well invested, has a loyal work force and now seeks to find a successor to the retiring Managing Director.
The business needs to appoint a well-rounded “hands -on” Managing Director to provide leadership across all areas of the businesses activities and further develop the strong customer relationships that have been at the heart of its success. A good leader both decisive and inclusive the role necessitates an individual as comfortable on the shop floor as in the board room and with a style to mentor and develop to help to bring the team along and share the vision to provide the highest standards of service, delivery and quality to its customer base. P&L accountability and responsibility and maximising shareholder value will motivate and drive the individual who will receive the full support and backing of a shareholder base with a long record of investment.
The successful candidate will be proven and preferably with a strong operational background and with a demonstrably successful record of optimising customer relationships. Capability is more important than sectorial background but experience in a fast-paced environment such as Food, Ceramics, Glass or others with demanding “blue – chip” customers and constant emphasis on quality, flexibility and service would be advantageous. The individual that joins will have the strategic expertise to exploit opportunities to develop related market and product opportunities and the ability to both implement and originate change. This is a great role with a remit to build on a strong customer base a well invested facility and drive further profitable growth.
