Job description: 

Our client is a c £300 million group that consists of three divisions and is engaged in the distribution of commercial products from a number of sites . Its principal division operates out of a Sheffield Head Office and has a number of sites across the North of England.  It seeks to strengthen its executive through the assignment of a commercial, well rounded finance professional to make a key contribution as a member of the executive supporting the Managing Director.

The individual to be appointed will through a central finance team drive an MI and KPI platform to challenge and support site management and will focus on best practice cash and working capital management. Supporting the Divisional Managing Director and working alongside the executive the Divisional Financial Controller will work with other colleagues in other divisions and the Group Finance Director to identify opportunities to avoid duplication, optimise operational efficiencies and in particular procurement. The successful candidate will lead , develop and motivate the finance team and be driven to provide management with appropriate measures to provide a platform for executive decision making .

The Divisional Financial Controller will be comfortable and proven in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment (ideally within private equity) with short lines of communication and rapid decision making.  He/she will enjoy the challenges of a customer centric trading business and will have the necessary commercial and communication skills to thrive.  The individual appointed will have experience as a key member of an executive, a demonstrable record of impacting on its performance and the ability to quickly build quality relationships with colleagues at all levels.  First and foremast however he/she will be driven to develop a finance team to be actively involved in all aspects of the business agenda.
