Job description: 

We are retained to find an ambitious, technically gifted and commercially astute Group Financial Controller to manage a central finance team, support the Finance Director and work closely with the board and across the operations.  Successfully refinanced last year, supported by a highly regarded private equity house and with an outstanding executive team the business is highly profitable and has a clear future strategy.

Managing a central finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate management accounts with supporting analysis and KPIs from which to challenge and support the business across its sites.  He/she will prepare board reports and MI for the private equity backers and will be further develop management reporting and KPIs utilising the ERP system to assist in further sales growth and operational efficiency.  The individual to be appointed will manage cash flow including short and long term cash forecasting and monitoring and will oversee the preparation and delivery of company and group statutory accounts liaising with auditors and adhering to strict deadlines.  He/she will manage the budget and financial modelling as well as the subsidiary finance teams and will support the board and shareholders in due diligence and acquisition integration .

Likely to be a graduate Chartered Accountant with experience in practice and industry of complex and fast paced businesses the successful candidate will need to demonstrate obvious potential to progress.  Robust and independently minded with the necessary skills to both originate and implement change this is a real opportunity to underpin the Finance Director and work closely with the Chairman and build a skill set to be able to be a successful Finance Director of the future.  Technically gifted but with strong interpersonal and communication skills the individual to be appointed will be keen and expected to contribute across all areas of the business’s activities.
