With revenues in excess of £300 million and a consistent record of organic and acquisitive growth our client is one of Yorkshire’s most prominent companies. With a footprint across Europe and an ambitious executive it seeks to appoint a highly commercial well rounded Group Finance Director who will be comfortable with the energy and dynamism of an entrepreneurial business whilst keen to derive commercial benefit from the scale and resources of a corporate entity.

The successful candidate will thrive in a participative diverse role with responsibility for finance and other functions and will play a central role in commercial decision support around pricing, strategy and product development. He/she will manage all internal and external reporting for the group, provide regular information to banks and manage the banking relationships and maintain foreign exchange systems. The individual to be appointed will provide support and input to the ongoing 3 year strategy process, manage, plan activities, track performance and provide leadership and support the teams he/she is responsible for. Reporting to the Group Chief Executive the Group Finance Director will be responsible for customer and supplier contracts, setting rules for debtor and creditor terms, optimising working capital management and provide financial leadership and support in to the decision making process.

The individual to be appointed will be a graduate qualified accountant, proven as a leader of a finance function of size and complexity, will have a good understanding of key profit drivers, will have M&A experience and be proven in managing shareholders ideally within both  a p/e backed environment and the public arena. He/she will work as part of a team whose ethos has a strong focus on both collective success and the achievement of personal ambition. He/she will work with the board and Group Finance Director to identify, evaluate, and pursue acquisition targets, to execute funding options and lead the financial and commercial integration. Organised and with good planning skills and attention to detail previous experience in an environment focused on optimising asset utilisation would be helpful but equally important is the ability to undertake independent, accurate and incisive financial analysis. It is taken as read that the successful candidate will have demonstrable qualities of teamwork and managing through others to gain results, sound and mature judgement, be tenacious (willing to be challenged and set challenges) and have the capacity to act and think quickly under pressure.
