Our client is a well established family business with a record of consistent revenue growth and investment in its infrastructure. With revenues in excess of £70 million it operates from three sites and is currently undertaking a strategic review in order to determine its future direction. It’s Group Managing Director now seeks to appoint a business minded finance professional to report to him and to work across the senior executive and bring finance to the heart of the business agenda.
Key objectives are to develop management reporting as a tool to enhance competitive edge to establish a strong KPI culture and to both challenge and support the senior executive. Strategic decisions such as investment in infrastructure and capital expenditure proposals will be subject to commercial rigour whilst customer and product profitability will be regularly reviewed and analysed in order to assist in margin enhancement and sales growth and operational efficiency. He/she will manage and coordinate the budget and financial modelling and cash flow including short and long term cash forecasting.
Capability is more important than sectorial background but it is likely that successful candidate will be a chartered accountant who has trained with one of the ‘ big four “. The ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with short lines of communication and a responsiveness to its “ blue chip “ customer base is essential as is a desire to work in and across the business and engage at all levels. This is an excellent opportunity to build upon one’s financial training and develop general management skills and expertise.
