Our client is a rapidly growing, liquid and profitable wealth management business with an ambitious Chairman keen to create further value both by acquisition and diversification of its product offerings. To do so, he seeks to appoint a hungry, ambitious, Managing Director driven to succeed by playing a key role in further developing the business and enjoying significant income and capital gain.
The diversification will focus on the increasingly complex area of corporate financial planning, providing guidance on pensions, protection for Directors, key employees and shareholders, tax planning and aspects of exit strategy planning. The individual will mentor the small team currently in the business and provide leadership and development to the existing team as well as growing the services above, both through acquisition and organic growth. The opportunities to “cross sell" and provide a broader service proposition are considerable and present significant potential to product differentiate with clients.
We seek an individual with an unusual combination of skills who may well be an accountant and/or an M&A specialist. Core to their abilities however, he/she will be outstanding at networking/ business development skills coupled with the commercial and personal credibility to interact effectively with entrepreneurs and boards. He/she will have good people management skills. A proven record of working successfully with owners, SMEs and entrepreneurs would be advantageous. First and foremost however, is the need to have the drive, ambition, hunger and work ethic to succeed in a fast moving, demanding client facing environment. It would be considered that the appointment has been less than successful if the individual appointed is not quickly earning substantially greater income than that quoted above and also benefiting from "carry" in certain transactions.
