A market leader in a sizeable and growing global market our client has developed a product proposition that serves the major “ blue - chip “ customers whilst also having the flexibility and speed of response and service levels to be adept and flexible to exploit the “ niche “ opportunities that generate greater margins . Entrepreneurially managed and consistently  successful the business seeks a  Chief Financial Officer who will be at the centre of all commercial activities and will have strong attention to detail, appreciate the importance of cash control and working capital management and will have the gravitas and commercial acumen to be credible with customers and shareholders.

It is taken as read that the successful candidate will be an outstanding commercial animal , intuitive in his / her ability to quickly understand the key drivers across the business’s
activities and proven in making sure finance is at the heart of the commercial agenda and decision making . The Chief Financial Officer will be adept at shareholder and advisor management and will have excellent presentational skills together with the ability to originate and influence and implement change . Comfortable in a highly collaborative and collegiate team he / she will be ambitious to further develop the business and play a part in realising greater shareholder value . The individual appointed will be expected to be the heartbeat and social conscience of the business providing challenge , support and financial interpretation where necessary.

The Chief Financial Officer will have a highly operational nature ideally with previous and proven management responsibility for other commercial functions . He / she will be pragmatic and practical , comfortable in an environment with short lines of communication and be a first class finance professional able to operate at all levels . The individual to be appointed will be the principal point of contact with shareholders and advisors and will drive the M&A agenda . A proven balance between adherence to governance whilst recognising commercial priorities would be advantageous as will a successful record in a business either within the public arena or private equity.
