It’s excellent growth over recent years has allowed it to invest in its infrastructure but also stretched the management and resulted in a need to appoint an experienced Chief Financial Officer to play a broad role across all areas of the business . The successful candidate will be proven in challenging and supporting colleagues particularly through the development of an MI platform to deliver an analysis of customer / product profitability and margin as a basis to make informed management decisions . He/she will be proven in impacting operationally in a fast moving customer facing business with a record of responsiveness and outstanding customer service . An unyielding passion for cash flow and working capital management gained in a successful private equity environment together with a clear ability to contribute to the strategic debate whilst simultaneously having a desire to operate at a detailed level are essential attributes .
A qualified accountant with a proven record of achievement in a demanding private equity environment he / she will provide finance and commercial leadership across all aspects of the business . A good communicator with the credibility and gravitas to influence the individual to be appointed will be robust and independent and able to stand rigorous challenge by shareholders together with representing the business externally. The Chief Financial Officer will underpin the Chief Executive complimenting their product and marketing strengths and ensure the management remains focused on the maximisation of shareholder value and has an ongoing objective on optimising returns at time of exit . A background in a retail / consumer business with a strong e-commerce proposition and digital backdrop would be helpful.
