With the support of a team covering HSE, operations and supply chain and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Operations Manager to be appointed will actively participate in board, senior management and management team meetings, and will play a key role in developing a lean, process-driven best practice culture to improve people, product, quality and performance whilst reducing cost. He / she will support the CEO in promoting employee engagement and ensuring growth and quality of people by way of talent and succession planning and lead continuous improvement through lean principles ensuring the growth of an improvement culture and assist in the business striving to be a world class manufacturer. The individual to be appointed will, together with the executive, ensure effective planning and utilisation of resources to achieve monthly production targets providing leadership to the shop floor. He / she will work closely with the Supply Chain team ensuring processes and targets are being monitored and achieved.
The Operations Manager will be credible at senior management level, will have obvious potential to progress, will have experience of manufacturing and a machine shop / assembly environment and will be a good communicator and engage at all levels . The successful candidate will be adaptable to a changing work environment, will be able to plan operational activity and demonstrate leadership qualities. Analytically gifted and results driven but with keen attention to detail this is an excellent opportunity to make a key contribution and join the board.
