Our client, Roots Systems Limited (www.roots-blowers.com), has since 1974 been supplying vacuum boosters and compressors to many leading process companies and contactors worldwide – they excel in the design and assembly of custom packages for challenging environments and have built up an unrivalled experience in a wide variety of applications and operating conditions. As part of the Rotolok Group (www.rotolok.com) for over thirty years, they have access to capital and are poised for significant growth. As a result of this, and due to succession planning, they are seeking a proactive General Manager who will be instrumental in enabling the company to achieve its strategic goals.
This is a unique opportunity to lead and grow this exceptionally well-regarded UK business. The key requirements for this role are business development, vision and sales leadership but with a good background in engineering manufacturing. You will work with the Management Team and the parent company to refine and validate Roots’ vision and strategy and will then have ultimate responsibility for delivering the agreed growth plan.
With a proven track record in all aspects of international business development, you will be capable of representing the whole company when engaging with customers, partners, suppliers and staff. Energetic, enthusiastic and committed, with a strong understanding of the needs of an SME, you will bring out the best in your team, lead by example, excel at collective leadership and effectively deliver change. You will be incisive and intuitive, generating a sense of purpose, teamwork, delivery and accountability. You should be able to demonstrate significant P&L improvement in previous positions. This is a “hands-on” role and an outstanding opportunity to make your mark with a unique company and experience of the engineering/manufacturing sectors would be advantageous but not essential.
