Established in 1974, they are a leading performer within the sector and constantly strive to improve their service to customers. With their wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry, they ensure that they work with customers in a straightforward and professional manner. Given continued organic growth they are seeking an incisive Head of Finance who will be instrumental in enabling the organisation to achieve its strategic goals.
This key role will be the ‘engine room’ of finance, driving and managing MIS to produce management reports and annual statutory accounts in a meaningful and timely fashion. The remit covers business planning and budgetary control cycle/aspects of the business in addition to the monitoring of performance trends and commercial analysis – it is vital that the executive team of this fast moving and developing business are provided with strong control and robust reporting .
A critical element of the role is to proactively engage management across the business, monitoring key drivers and KPI’s, improving efficiency and protecting/maintaining margin, etc. You will drive both systems and process improvement, lead a small focused team bringing a “can do” attitude coupled to a “will do” finance culture that enables business development.
Prospects will be qualified accountants with a proven track record of achievement in a fast-moving environment. Technical skills are a given, commercial acumen a necessity. Process improvement is a key area of the role and candidates must be skilled at analysing business objectives and finding ways of streamlining and improving business processes. Candidates will have a financial and commercial focus and a pro-active, self-starting, enquiring mind is essential to get “under the figures” and understand the key drivers. Clarity of purpose, communication and reporting is second nature with the personal stature to influence across the business up to Board level and to represent the Company externally.
